Alright folks, it’s time to curate your Summer 2017 Bucket List. Here’s a handful of food, music, and art festivals that have made my list. What’s on yours?
Edmonton Craft Beer Festival Edmonton Expo Centre at Northlands
I love beer. You love beer. We all love beer. Enough said! Oh ya—and there will be hundreds of beers available to taste.

Just a Little Night Market Aviation Hangar
Next edition: June 9-10
This is not a late-night farmer’s market. Expect live music and arts performances with seating available. Enjoy food and drinks. Shop for local, handcrafted fashion and wares, and join the Night Market community. Multiple markets will be scheduled throughout the summer.
Edmonton Pride Festival Various Locations
Your summer bucket list would be incomplete without plans to check out Edmonton’s Pride week. Rep the rainbow!
Gluten Free Festival Chateau Louis Conference Centre
Whether you’re celiac, or just intolerant, Edmonton’s Gluten Free Festival is your chance to indulge. Expect a vendor fair, plus food and drinks.
Porkapalooza BBQ Fest Northlands
I’m pretty sure that the name “Porkapalooza” is already enough reason to attend. Top chefs compete for the title of BBQ king; we reap the rewards. Plus, there’s a beer garden.
Improvaganza Citadel Theatre
Check out international and Canadian improv and sketch comedy performers on the Citadel’s funniest stage.
Edmonton Jazz Fest Various Locations
June 23-July 2
Year after year, jazz musicians journey to Edmonton to spread a love and appreciation for the art. Multiple shows are scheduled daily throughout the week.
Celebrate Canada’s 150th in Edmonton Various Locations
It’s Canada’s 150th birthday, so if you haven’t scored a campsite in the Rockies yet, you probably won’t find one. It’s ok though because Edmonton has a few urban events planned for the big day.

Edmonton International Street Performers Festival Sir Winston Churchill Square
Edmonton’s Street Performers Festival is different from other outdoor festivals because the performers are personally curated and invited by the festival’s Artistic Producer. That means only the best performers will be in attendance.
Calgary Stampede Calgary, Alberta
It’s Alberta’s favourite time of the year again! And no—we don’t mean Christmas. We know our boots were made for dancing at the Nashville North tent at the Calgary Stampede. Pack up your car, and don’t forget your cowboy boots.
Interstellar Rodeo Music Festival William Hawrelak Park
Dance to country, indie, and a range of other music under the sun and starts in Edmonton’s Hawrelak Park. The 2017 lineup includes Serena Ryder and Broken Social Scene.

Big Valley Jamboree Camrose, Alberta
For a small town, Camrose knows how to pack a party. Grab your best buds and your tent to check out the Big Valley Jamboree.

Rockers: Rejoice! There is a rock music festival for you amongst all of the country, electronic, etc. planned for this summer.
